Spext is a temporary sharing tool for text, links, and up to 25 MiB of files, without an account. New shares use strong, hard-to-guess identifiers; existing four-character legacy links remain supported.
You can choose 15 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, 1 day, 7 days, or no scheduled expiry. Expired or consumed records are made unavailable and queued for deletion. Immediate, irrecoverable physical deletion cannot be guaranteed because provider backups and operational delays may apply.
The password is verified at the server boundary. Text, target URLs, and metadata such as file names are encrypted in the browser; file bytes are not end-to-end encrypted and are stored behind access controls in Firebase Storage. Do not share highly sensitive data.
The first successful access is atomically reserved for one recipient and the link closes to others. Text and URL records are deleted on consumption; files are deleted after download completion or lifecycle cleanup.
Total views count successful opens. Unique views use a random browser token transformed with a per-share HMAC; the counter does not use an IP address as a persistent identity.
A share may contain up to 100 files and 25 MiB total. Downloads use safe attachment headers and application/octet-stream; a client-declared content type is not trusted.
